Fall/Winter Movies List
Just saw this list on the AP: Highlights of Hollywood's fall, holiday schedule. The question is how many are you actually looking forward to? Out of 98 on the list, I'm looking forward to 5 with 6 more that I want to see more about. I actually thought it would be less.
LOOKING FORWARD TO:
APPALOOSA: Hired lawman (Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris) take on a tough rancher (Jeremy Irons) in a Western directed by Harris. Renee Zellweger co-stars. ---- I like most of the modern westerns and Viggo and Harris should do pretty good with it.
BURN AFTER READING: George Clooney and Brad Pitt star in the Coen brothers' romp about CIA secrets that fall into the hands of fitness club employees. ----Absolutely can't wait for this one. Great cast, great idea, and it's the Coen brothers! 'Nuff said.
CHOKE: A scam artist with a demented mother pursues the truth about the identity of his father. Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston star. ---- Loved the book by Palanhiuk and I think Rockwell will do a good job.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE: James Bond (Daniel Craig), vengeful over the death of his love, takes on a phony environmentalist trying to control water supplies. ---- It's Bond.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: Destitute roommies (Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks) try to make a skin flick to raise cash. Directed by Kevin Smith. ---- This is perfect subject for Kevin Smith
COULD BE DECENT:
SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO: A gunman is caught up in a deadly battle between two clans in this Japanese take on spaghetti Westerns. With Quentin Tarantino. ---- Interesting idea. I love spaghetti westerns and I'm a big fan of Japanese warlord, fighting movies...
SURFER, DUDE: A surfer (Matthew McConaughey) rides a wave of chaos in his life. With Woody Harrelson and Willie Nelson. ---- Hopefully, this is McConaughey doing character we all love him for instead of the pansy we've been seeing lately. And it has Woody and Willie!
BODY OF LIES: A CIA man (Leonardo DiCaprio) goes after a terrorist kingpin while a crafty colleague (Russell Crowe) runs interference. Ridley Scott directs. ---- Looks interesting, but not very original.
PRIDE AND GLORY: A New York City family of cops is shaken when a son is forced to investigate his brother. With Edward Norton and Colin Farrell. ---- See Body of Lies
PUNISHER: WAR ZONE: The Marvel Comics vigilante (Ray Stevenson) is himself a target for vengeance by a crime boss. ---- Didn't care for The Punisher, but this is a new Frank Castle....who knows, I'm a sucker for comic book movies.

How does Seth Rogen always end up in movies that have a main storyline involving sex with hot actresses?

Thomas Jane wasn't bad, they were awful quick to pull the trigger on a replacement. I'm sorry there's just not much you can do with Punisher that hasn't already been done in 500 other revenge action flicks, especially if they're going to keep him outside the rest of the growing Marvel Universe. Frank Castle just isn't that interesting a character. He's just Blade without the vampire angle. He shoots people and blows stuff up. And he's not even cool like The Equalizer!
When does Watchmen come out?

IMDB has the date for The Watchmen as March 6, 2009. Man I'm totally psyched about that one...have you seen the trailer and the pics that have been released? It looks hella cool!

What do you think about Rockwell playing Victor Mancini? I really like pretty much everything I've seen him in, but he's usually a free-wheeling, laid-back funny guy, to a certain extent at least. I think the darker Mancini will help him break out of that a little and I think he'll do a great job with it.
