    Obama says Palin's family off-limits

MONROE, Michigan (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama said firmly that families are off-limits in the campaign for president, reacting to news that GOP running mate Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

"Let me be as clear as possible," Obama said. "I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."

I must say, if he sticks to his word then you gotta respect him for it. Who cares if she is pregnant, The Obama campaing could be running wild with this, and i hope they don't as it doesnt have a thing to do with politics. Even if the media is running with it.

He'll stick to it, but do not be surprised to hear a different Democrat speak his/her mind.

Yea, i agree with Ash, you know who(s) will defintly mention it. but honestly, this is not the least bit shocking, its pretty common for a 17 year old girl to be pregnant in this day in age

Obama is playing both sides. The mainstream media makes this story the main theme of the week and Obama (knowing that it will continue) can act like he is taking the high ground. His own campaign attacked her on the day she was announced as VP and then he acts like the good cop. Clear case of, "good cop, bad cop" technique. The media bad mouths Palin's daughter (the same media that puts him on Time magazine 6-7 times. yes I lost count) and Obama can step in after the story has run for a few days days and then say, "family is off limits," looking like the good guy. A win win for him! You have to hand it to him, he is good!
