So what's Richmond gonna do about Hanna?

I guess I'm just curious what you all think....I was gonna go to this race, but we changed our minds and are going to Charlotte next month--glad we did. But I'm thinking....when will they REALLY be able to get this race going? With the Hurricane/Tropical Storm, won't it be raining for quite a while straight?

JW what you guys think....what options does NASCAR have?

The only thing I can think of would be to run the Cup race TONIGHT before it gets here, and worry about the Nationwide race later. I'm not saying it's a good idea, but I don't know what other options there would be, lol. I'm just thinking it'll probably rain through at least Sunday/Monday, non-stop, wouldn't it?

Well we just drove the 9 hours into Washington DC from Michigan and are heading down to the track for the Nationwide race here in a few hours so I am hoping they find some way to get both of these races in.

Looks like it'll rain about all day tomorrow. On the Weather Channel's website it has the rain clearing away around 10 tomorrow night and Sunday is suppose to be party cloudy until afternoon and then get sunny. Maybe they could get the race in on Sunday if they cant tomorrow. Either way, I'm lookin forward to it.

Cup race is at 1pm and Nationwide looks to be at 7pm (ESPN has 6:30 though...probably when coverage begins).

RICHMOND, Va. -- Fearing for the safety of more than 100,000 fans expected to attend Saturday's Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway, NASCAR officials elected Friday evening to postpone the start of the race until 1 p.m. ET Sunday on ESPN after rain from Tropical Storm Hanna threatened to swamp the track.

Spinoff rain from Hanna struck RIR Friday afternoon at about 4:15 p.m., wiping out all hope NASCAR officials had for the remainder of scheduled activities not only that evening, but all day Saturday as well.

Qualifying for the Nationwide Series' Emerson Radio 250 was canceled at about 4:46, with the 43-car lineup set per the rulebook -- the top-30 starters line up in order of owner points. Qualifying for the Cup race also eventually was washed out, and the starting field was set per the rulebook.

The Nationwide event will now be run at 7 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2, after conclusion of the Cup race and after the grandstands have been cleared.

Thankfully I have 2 hd tvs one on a swival arm, I'll be watching racing on one and football on the other......I new my gaming addiction would come in handy.

this stinks lol-Nascar and Football on the same day is always bad for ratings-I really dont care about football much-its something to watch during commercials-its not like the team I root for (Lions) is any good anyways haha. Oh well-double header on Sunday.

I'm just happy my woeful Redskins played on Thursday. I don't have to worry about that, I can focus on the race. Poor Joey Logano, doesn't even get the chance to attempt to make his first race.
