The Always Great BV VS SV Debate!
well i remember last time i posted on something like this, i was completely bv all the way, now i find myself using both, meaning i am having a changing of opinion or something. mostly the reason is, for most time, i dont have bad stuff but not "whats best" and "what everyone wants" but i find the same people who don't want to trade something that is worth virtually nothing, and the player isnt a star or semi star and says i have nothing, they are the same who offer me that same "dud" card for a star card i obtain.
is it me or does anyone else get this? i will say no because i dont make trades on bv, i dont trade by bv, but like my new Jon Lester 06 UD Future Stars RC Auto short print that books 30, sells for 20 on the only 2 ebay auctions aviabable. now how is that a lester rc auto books 30 and is a sp but a non sp auto of howie kendrick is 40, and probably sells less????
with my lester, i defintly am not trading this one probably, unless i get over bv major. maybe i just like the card to much or something? by my ian kinsler rc auto only books 15 as well, SV just seems more accurate on CERTAIN things. of course i'm not in the hobby to make money, but i dont want to let go of a great card because beckett claims that the value is 30
what does everyone think?Hidden Content

i also think it depends on the caliber of the player. lets say a john maine 1/1 somehow sells on average the same as a tom brady auto, i dont think anyone would do it.
i trade on caliber of the player alot, if i have a star type auto i expect a star auto in return, some people say "but this and this book the same"? well there not the same type of player

I pretty much threw BV out the window. Can't use it anymore, you just can't justify it anymore. Even Beckett at some of their articles and responses has been quoting Ebay prices/sales. Bottom line, you're selling/trading the card at current market value which is heavily dictated through auction sites (Ebay, etc).

i think sv/tv should only be used when both parties cannot find the card in the book, or they feel the card is in a condition that greatly effects the price...
