Is God against freedom of speech? People say it's blasphemy to use the Lord's name in vain....Why can't I say whatever I please without fear of going to hell?
PS: Gatorboymike is never dull huh?

What does the Bible say about the events leading up to the end of the world? My friend has told me it says (or implies) things about a one world government, a major world leader claiming to be Jesus, and other stuff.

Same reason you can't simply do whatever you like. Freedom of speech is a secular ideal

Well I guess you can look at it that everyone or everything that has died has technically(through my belief) has been kiled by God as well....he gave everyone and everything life and he made the rules that things must die. Seems to me like you shouldn't let things like religion anger you so much and hold a resentment of things you have no control over...ie what people believe in or what they don't believe in. You don't hear me mocking you preciuos sun

This is why they recent scholars say that the bible is outdated as far as our society is concered.....ie anger is a sin(anger in western culture is viewed as completely different than how is was viewed 2 thousand years ago

The only reason I resent it is because certain people feel that they have the right, privilege and duty to attack me and try to change me because I have different spiritual and philosophical beliefs than they do. They think no one should be allowed to disagree with them, and anyone who does deserves to have horrors befall them. Anyone who keeps their beliefs to themself, I have no problem with. But we all know that most Christians don't do that.
And by all means, mock the sun. It doesn't care, and I don't get angry on its behalf.

gatorboymike, I was extremely impressed with the level of civility in your first post...you just had to go ruin that didn't you? As with anything else in the Politics & Religion forum, if you're going to make outrageous claims, show us some proof to back it up. And everyone else in here has remained pretty civil and respectful of others' opinions and beliefs, please try to do the same.
