2008 Rookie Class - Lower Value then 2007?
Is it just me or has the 2008 Rookie Cards been selling and booking lower than the 2007 guys at the same time last year? After week 1, it looks like this is going to be a pretty strong rookie class. But despite great games by Matt Ryan, Desean Jackson, Eddie Royal, Matt Forte and nice games by guys like McFadden, Felix Jones, Jonathan Stewart etc. I don't see their cards selling that strong on Ebay compare to last years rookies at the same time. I remember I sold the Spx Brady Quinn at $250 and Spx Adrian Peterson at $350 and this was before they even played a game. In comparison, so far Darren Mcfadden's prices have been weak for the top priced rookie compare to other years, and most Matt Ryan Autographed Rc are only going for $60-$100 compared to Brady Quinn last year selling for $200 at the start of the season. I wonder if this is the sign of a bad economy or this hobby dying.

Don't think this draft class has the amount of HUGE names like last year had. Peterson, JRuss, Quinn, Calvin Johnson who were all supposed to be amazing players. You just haven't heard of as many players to be game-breaking players right into and after the draft like last year.
Also probably has a bit to do with the economy.

I think theres more than a few people out there who are gun-shy after getting burned big time on Reggie Bush stuff. I'm not saying the guys a total bust, but he most definately has done nothing to justify the prices his cards were bringing back in '06. Some of this years rooks look like they have some real potential. If you think they're under-valued then pick some of their cards up and see if you can make a buck after they get hot. Thats the name of the game man.
By the way, your pic in your sig in huge. Its not supposed to be that big on here.

I don't think it's just Bush's stuff that made folks gun shy. Young, Leinhart, Cutler and a few others sold for fairly high and really hasn't shown much to justify it.

I wouldnt really say the hobby is dying, if anything getting stronger...more cards are being produced each and every year...like the lettermans, the autos are overproduced although there the most sought after cards and they dont sell as high but eventually theyll go up
