First off, I'd like to thank Donruss/Playoff for providing this box to SportsCardForum.com for a review.
Score Select is a Standalone parallel of the normal Score Set. Everything is the same between the two sets other than the foil of the Score Select Set.
The Base Set is VERY large with 440 total cards(110 being Rookies). It is impossible to get near a complete set with 1 box as we recieved just over 19% of the set from this box. The base rookies stand out from the base with a Rainbow finish to them like most years and are all #'d/999. The overall Layout of the base set it pretty good, nothing over the top and a good selection of photography. The Inserts(except for Hot Rookies) are a little different, instead of Photography they use a highly detailed drawing of the player.
One thing I dont like about this product are the immense amounts of parallels of the same cards. Even the insert sets have the same type of parallel a the base set. Also with the large set size and amount of parallels the ratio for better rookies and better parallels goes down greatly.
I ranked the value and rebuy pretty low on this set as its marketed as a direct Parallel to base Score set and the amount of versions of the same card.
Overall it was a Fun box to open, despite my lackluster break, with 3 autos, 6 rookies and 12 other #'d Inserts per box. It would be a good box to buy for some one who likes to try and put to gether a little harder set or try for the harder #'d cards.
All these cards will also be placed in our card cash store or given away as prizes.Last edited by mikesilvia; 09-15-2008 at 02:56 AM.

If you like to take risks with your boxes, I say get a box. But if your going for just pure re-sell value, No. The Fun Factor is there as you will get a good variety of good looking cards, and no Doubles of anything.
There are 110 different rookies in this set, and they each all the versions of Autos.

Well here is a quick Breakdown:
Select:
3 Autos a Box(440 different possible players)
6 #'d/999 Rookies per Box(110 Different Rookies)
12 #'d Inserts/Parallels(which could be Rookie Variations too)
Topps Chrome:
1 Auto per Box(50 of which are rookies)
12 Rookies per Box(110 different Rookies)
Not sure on How many Parallels or Inserts there are per box(refractors are 1:3 packs)
I've always loved Topps Chrome, but this simple breakdown favors Score Select in a Trading aspect in my opinion
