Pistons staying put with starters
DETROIT -- The Detroit Pistons expect to start the season next month with the same nucleus they've had in recent years.
That wasn't Plan A.
Joe Dumars, the Pistons' president of basketball operations, told the Associated Press on Thursday he's keeping the team together because no one offered him a good deal after he publicly put his players on the trading block in June.
"We talked to teams this summer, but nothing was presented to me that would make us better than we already are," Dumars said. "This can be one of the elite teams in the league that contends for a championship."

Well, when noone was traded for 2 1/2 months since the draft, this was kind of a no-brainer....good luck to them this upcoming season - they'll need it!

Eastern Confrence Finals here we come!!!
of course they will loose to the Celtics if everyone stays healthy on both sides, but some people are saying they'll be awful. How does this team go from top 2, to a scrub team in the offseason?

I don't view them as a scrub team, but they are getting older, and quite a few eastern conference teams have improved this offseason (Cavs, 76ers, Raptors)...not saying they are better than Detroit...just that Detroit did not make any moves that will improve them (sorry Kwame)

But, the Celtics have 2 for sure, should be 3 future HOFers....how many do the Pistons have?? ;-)
The Celtics also added a (hopefully) decent player in Darius Miles

The Detroit Pistons need to change their starting lineup. They are getting old. They use to be a dominant team for a couple of years but now they are staying behind. This years championship will be between the Lakers and Celtics again

this seems bias but in now way do i think its true, i like the saying "to be the man, you have to beat the man" i havent seen anyone take the central divison from Detroit, so until someone does, Pistons are the favorites.
& need i remind you the Cav's have some shaddy characters. zydrunas illgauskas, the always dramatic anderson "my hair is held up by my headband" varejo
