its not really that..... UD graded came out of the pack graded... someone busted it out of the slab it came it
really?
i just thought because it was (at first) just a jersey card it wouldn't have been incased....
but it was actually released in the 2004 ultimate set as the auto/jersey /9 you see now.

from what ive seen and heard of all the "UD GRADED" were actually in bgs slabs thats why they called them UD GRADED

from what i've seen... only the rookie autos and jerseys were graded... but you might be right.. haven't really looked into it all that much
