    PETA...'Nuff said

I was trying to think of a witty thread title, but there's really nothing you need to add.

That is crazy, instead of sending human breast milk to foster home newborns, they want to make ice cream with it. They are taking this to a new level.

    This is dumb

I do not belong to PETA but I understand some of thier points.

This part of their argument is valid.
The late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America's leading authority on child care, spoke out against feeding cow's milk to children, saying it may play a role in anemia, allergies, and juvenile diabetes and in the long term, will set kids up for obesity and heart disease-America's number one cause of death.

Humans aren't meant to drink other animal's milk for long periods of time. No I am not a vegan and yes I do eat meat. However I do believe in the fair treatment of farm animals and not giving our children hormones that make 12 year old girls look like they are 19 years old.

Here is another site to support the dangers of Cow's milk,

Yes... milk is Mother Nature's "perfect food" ...for a calf... until it is weaned.

Everything you know about cow's milk and dairy is probably part of a Dairy industry MYTH.

Cow's milk is an unhealthy fluid from diseased animals that contains a wide range of dangerous and disease-causing substances that have a cumulative negative effect on all who consume it.

    MILK'S BASIC CONTENTS

*ALL* cow's milk (regular and 'organic') has 59 active hormones, scores of allergens, fat and cholesterol.

The only problem is most of that guys work was done 50 plus years ago. Not completely discrediting him but just saying you can take it with a grain of salt especially when it is being spread around by an organization that clearly has a motive

    Very true...short bus special!

    The breast is best!

Hey, no argument there...but I don't want it in my Mac n Cheese. Hmmm...then again....

11chaos - Not saying that info is wrong, but what about all the scientific evidence on the health benefits of milk? Who do you believe? No I don't have any links, don't really have the time to research milk...but I've heard about it all my life. The only illness or disease I've heard of related to milk is being lactose intolerant.

I have a 10 month old so I have read all the things about the harmful risks of milk. For the most part, the studies are talking about not giving your child cow's milk until after 18-24 months.
We are talking about ice cream here. Last I checked, most people eating ice cream were over 2 years old so I'm not sure how valid the health issue is here.
