give the kid a pro bowl wideout not therapy

Come on now, are you going to say that a player needs Pro Bowl wideouts to be successful? If that were the case, then Kitna would be tearing up the league. Some players have done with less at WR. I think McNair would've been a solid mentor, but then again, I think it all stems from his great run he put together his rookie year. A lot of people were expecting him to be even better his 2nd year, and when he struggled, it got to him.

I think McNair could have helped Vince; after all, both are known as "scramblers", although McNair's passing game was much more refined.

For Vince to become a better quarterback in the NFL, he is going to develop a different attitude and outlook of the game. He also needs to work on learning how to read defenses.

I am pretty opinionated when it comes to VY. There was a sports.yahoo article last week discussing his mental short-comings (I will try and find the link). Among other things, it was pointed out that Mack Brown and UT are known league-wide as putting out the biggest spoiled brats of any University.
VY was always going to be michael vick. A guy who will win a few games and make some highlights but was never going to be an MVP type guy in the NFL. That is why Jeff Fisher pushed so hard to draft cutler instead of young. He knew what he was getting.
McNair wouldn't have stayed around anyway because he still wanted to start and the Titans wanted to start VY asap.
As for the Wide Receiver issue, kerry collins sure seems to be doing alright with the receivers he has. Same as last year, collins had a better winning percentage and looked better than VY.

Exactly my point. I think a lot of Vy getting drafted with more of the owner wanting to get him since he is from Houston. It was all over the newspapers here.

I'm a Vince Young fan, but I have to agree. Aside from one horrible interception last week (can't say much there though), Collins has looked fairly good with our receiving core. I haven't noticed as many problems with how our receivers our playing.

Give the kid a break. He just needs to grow up a little. And yes, he might benefit from a little therapy - from a shrink or a seasoned vet - doesn't matter.

Kinda funny....Kerry Collins is doing just fine with the same WR's that VY had. Maybe after all this settles, and he has time to adjust to Heimerdinger things will get better, but only time will tell.

Vince Young would have benefited tremendously if he played behind McNair his rookie year.
