SCF October Fund Raiser!
MONEY RAISED SO FAR: $72
We took a poll and found some great charities! We initially decided to take the top three charities, but since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are adding a 4th.
HOW WE WILL RAISE MONEY
This is our first charity event on SCF. SCF will donate 100% of all Premium/VIP Membership proceeds to charity. Members that sign up for a Premium or VIP membership will be donating the entire proceeds (minus the PayPal Fee if PayPal is used) to one of the four charities. You make the choice! I decided to throw in the Premium or VIP Membership so you can feel great about giving money to charity and we will give you 1-Year free of the Premium or VIP membership.
ADDITIONAL $2 PER SIGN UP
Additionally, I will personally add $2 to each sign-up. So, if we get 100 sign ups, I will add $200 to the Breast Cancer Charity.
If you are already a Premium or VIP Member, you can buy a membership for another member on SCF or you can simply donate any amount.
ACCOUNTABILITY
To ensure FULL accountability, we will be listing the members and their donation as we raise the money. If you wish to remain private will will just state "donor" and list the amount. At the end, we will send the money to the charities. I will scan the check sent (lining out the important bank numbers) and ask the charities to come on SCF and confirm they have received the money and say their piece.
As we start this, I will be forwarding this charity drive to all of the major players in the sports card world. I will aks them to make a donation in some way. Hopefully, they will make a lump sum or match my $2 per sign up.
You can review the VIP and Premium Memberships here and order them here. You can see the results of our charity poll here. If paying by check or money order PM me for address.
CHARITIES
Make A Wish Foundation (Website)
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 167,000 children around the world.
Wounded Warrior Project (Website)
Provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) was founded on the principle that veterans are our nation's greatest citizens. The WWP seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds, burns, and blast injuries that will retire these brave warriors from military service.
American Red Cross (Website)
The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new—the more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. Through over 700 locally supported chapters, more than 15 million people gain the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, communities and world.
Susan B. Komen for a Cure (Website)
In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is 100 sign ups. That will be between $1,200 and $2,000 plus my $200 donation ($2 per sign up). Additionally, I hope to get some money from the major players in the sports card world.

If you would like to combine this with a Tuff Stuff subscription that is fine at $35. I will donate the $20 towards charity. Make the purchase and I will note it.
