Once everyone busts their box(es) of 2008 Wheels American Thunder, could you please make a nice, orderly post showing what you got out of your boxes.

Also, if possible, provide a scan of the best card you pulled? If you need help posting scans, PM anyone on the SCF Racing team and we will try to help.

Here I am with as usual the first post for the box breaks...got one box today. Her is the breakdown:

base set--80/85 base with one double...shouldn't have any period.

inserts--10 delegates, three american dream, two motorcades, one Am Dream. gold--Mark Martin 127/250

Now for the critique:

Base set: With 2008 being an election year, the potical themes (candidates, running mates, oval office, etc) was a great idea to go with set named American Thunder. The cards look great his year. Future Leaders also look good as well, and with only five RTs to get this year--and none of them track burners--they should be easy to get as well. 5/5 stars

Insert sets: Again the politics theme works here as well (Delegates, Motorcade and American Dream). the sets look better than last years also. 5/5 stars.

Raceused/autos: the red/white/blue spalsh adds much color to the cards that was very much needed last year, since they went with the same format as last year's race used. the Trackside Treasury autos look cool, but for the drivers who sign with one name on top of the other, like my Logano, it makes the card tough to sign. 4/5 stars.

Colloration: I got one double in my box and five base cards short for my set. But i did hit the ratios in my box with a bonus of a Future Leaders auto of Aric and the M. Martin AM Gold. 4.75/5 stars...if I didn't hit that double, five stars.

Overall: This has been the best version of WAT to date since they started in 2003. Enough Said. 4.75/5 starts for the set...on to Legends!!!

Ok I'll put my take first.

5 out of 5 star (basing it on my pulls out of 2 boxes)

Collation great, not many duplicates great design 4/5

Inserts great not many duplicates and awesome design 4/5

Overall Design/theme, at first thought it was hokey but after seeing the set in full
it's actually pretty darn cool, patriotic, and great tying in the election theme 5/5

Odds was to be 1 auto and 2 RU average per box, I beat the odds at 2 autos and 3 ru per box 5/5

Rookies not a great crop but was nice to pull a Rookie auto in each box, both were in packs with Hat GU cards, sweet packs. 4/5

Only cause I don't think any of the rookies they chose to add will amount to much in Nascar, Indy yes but not Nascar ( I can't wait for next years with Logano, and possibly Kesleowski, Cassill, Braun, Clauson now that is a stacked group of rookies and possibly the future of the sport).

Race used/ autos The Type of Race used (shirts, shoes, hats) I would rather see more different items for a change like in the last issue, Nets, Belts, More Car parts and Patches are cool. The Treasury Autos are nice but I prefered last years, and others. The Thunder Strokes were very nice these are kinda blah....just not exciting probably due to lack of color. 3/5

Overall though I like the set as a whole with the Base Deisgn the strongest with the election tie in. A great set that I will try to now complete (only cause I pulled two rookies, I've never been able to hit them in the past out of packs).

I did pull one of the cards I wanted the Carpentier Rookie Auto, would haved loved a Flying Frenchman one, but did not hit any Carl, Kyle, JJ, autos or GU but did land a Tony Triple Hat. Would have loved to hit a 1/1 plate of my guys, whoever hits the Jr 1/1 Plate will fall into a gold mine........good luck to everyone on their boxes.
