I would stick with Obama, although I do admit his candidacy has slipped since the primaries.

I've wanted Ron Paul since a year ago when I first heard him...
As much as I'm not a big fan of McCain or Obama, I am SOOOO GLAD that Giuliani isn't the Republican nominee....I can live with McCain, I might've renounced my citizenship with that slug Giuliani

Red, I think you're the registered Independent. It makes sense, too!! You like a variety of people.
Ron Paul is a borderline Libertarian, which is what I am. I wish he'd run on a smaller party's ticket. I'd vote for him.

Yeah, I wish sometimes there were no parties, because if you would've asked me a year ago if I'd vote for a Republican from Texas in 2008, you would've got a HELL NO....but most of the things that Ron Paul said, I tend to agree with...and the more I listened to him, the more I liked him
I didn't really follow the primaries too much, so I don't know all the details...but when I watched the Republican primary debates, Ron Paul OWNED Giuliani & McCain...I guess he had the internet support, and people were travelling to primary states to promote him, but it still wasn't enough...I'm just curious why the Republican party seemed so against him...I realize some of his ideas are pretty radical, but his own party seemed to not support him in any way....like he was the weird guy on stage that seemed out of place because he actually spoke from the heart...I believe Fox News or somebody actually kept him out of one of the debates, even though he had raised the most money....very interesting

I did follow the primaries, and the reason people were against Paul was because he came off as a loony. Honestly, he did. Even then, I said "he has some interesting points, but I can't see him executing them." It seems like he has become more grounded in his approach, but his views are just as strong.
Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney were the strongest debaters, in my opinion. Huckabee was decent as well.

yes, he did sometimes come across as a loon...but that's because his ideas are so different than the norm in which we've become accustomed to...
this interview here i'm sure most would think he's off his rockers, but I agree with him on every point here
