Obama up 7% before Palin Debate
Just to get on record. :)
Obama has held a statistically significant lead over McCain for each of the past seven days, ranging from four to eight points. (To view the complete trend since March 7, 2008, click here.)So, Obama/McCain will get a gain or loss from the VP debate in the next poll starting Saturday. The bad US economy data may play a part.
Most of the interviewing in today's three-day rolling average was conducted before Thursday night's vice presidential debate between Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Sarah Palin. Saturday's tracking results will begin to show any impact the heavily watched face-off may have had on voter preferences for president.
Voters' mindsets about the election in the coming days could also be influenced by the new Labor Department report out today, showing a bigger job loss in September than many analysts had predicted.

I will also be monitoring the electoral college to see if there is any noticeable shift.

All I can say is the economic crisis is a dream come true for Obama's chance at the Presidency.
Now, if Bush can pull UBL out of the closet and say McCain caught him we can swing it back to McCain. :)

Yes, saw that. This confirms that the debate was a tie or favored Biden a little. I would say tie as Obama is likely getting a boost from the financial crisis.
You can't gloat if you don't bet! But I will eat my crow sandwich. :)

I'm not eating crow so fast. :)
In a sign that the race for president has returned to about where it was before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the McCain-Palin ticket 47 percent to 43 percent among registered voters in a new CBS News poll.
The Obama-Biden ticket led by a wider margin, nine percentage points, in a CBS News poll released last Wednesday, before Joe Biden and Sarah Palin faced off in the vice presidential debate. Obama-Biden led by five percentage points on Sept. 25.
In the new poll, the Democratic ticket leads by 3 percentage points, 48 percent to 45 percent, among likely voters.

Hey Mike ... so is CBS News one of the scientific polls you were going to be following this week while the rest of us followed our "American Idol polls"?

In the thread where I removed that quote you discredited a FOX News poll, calling it an "American Idol poll" but then flip flop and use a CBS News poll to your advantange?

Your FIRST post in this thread linked to a gallup poll. Now, you use CBS??? I will link to a gallup poll. Obama's lead increased 2%.

But apparently we've shifted to using CBS news polls now and disregarded the gallup poll...which is more scientific than CBS.

Maybe you don't understand that this CBS poll is a scientific poll and a poll on a website is an American Idol poll. Is school in? Or can't people see the difference between a poll on a website where anyone can go an vote and a CBS poll where they make phone calls?

Explain to me how Gallop is more scientific than the CBS poll that I posted? It may be more popular, but in no way "more scientific". Both polls use the exact same scientific way of polling. It is not my fault you guys can't understand the difference between a CBS poll where they make phone calls with an expert and a poll posted on their website.
