    Parallel??????????????

    Does anyone have the TRUE definition of Parallel? Are just sequentially #rd cards parallel, or are they Short Print cards?

    parallel cards can be numbered or sometimes they will be a press proof without numbering like the donruss blue and red press proofs that is to the best of my knowledge anyway take care spuds

    A parallel card is a card that is a different version of the base card. It may have different lettering or a different border but the differences are usually subtle compared to the base card.
    Generally when you see an SP for a base set it is usually just that, a short printed card that may or may not be number and is incorporated in the base set. As an example, SP Legendary Cuts has a complete set of 130 base cards but 30 of those are SP's and are #'ed to 1299 which is stamped on the front. Parallel cards just usually have something different as stated above. Another example of a parallel is like the Playoff Absolute set that has the word Spectrum across the top. That is their parallel run and they are #'ed also.

    Thanks guys for the info, I did'nt realize there were so many different ways to tell. Now heres one for ya, do all Topps Crystal cards say Crystal on them?
