    If Obama is so dirty...

Why doesn't McCain say so? McCain runs negative ads all the time. McCain faced Obama in two debates. Where is all the dirt? He has opportunities to tell the American people. Mike has posted a ton of information about Obama's past & dealings...why isn't McCain using this to his advantage?

because even what little he has done has led to him being accused of running too many negative adds and using to many smear tactics.

what little he has done? remember, mccain was the one saying that he was going to avoid the negative ads, and wasn't going to run a dirty campaign...obviously this is unavoidable, it's just a part of politics, but this is all that McCain has left...he's not gonna win, and i think he's starting to realize it....therefore the attacks increase

To date, according to survey director Ken Goldstein, 73 percent of McCain's ads have been negative, a rate that's 10 percent higher than that of George Bush's re-election campaign in 2004.

Wish they had a percentage of negativity for Obama's ads. I would love to see how big or small the gap is.

Wish they had a percentage of negativity for Obama's ads. I would love to see how big or small the gap is.

    found this here...

During the week of September 28-October 4, nearly 100 percent of the McCain campaign’s
advertisements were negative. During the same period, 34 percent of the Obama campaign’s ads
were negative. Comparing this presidential election to 2004, we see that both the McCain and
Obama campaigns have aired more negative advertisements than did their counterparts. In all of
2004, 64 percent of the Bush campaign’s ads were negative, while to date, 73 percent of McCain’s ads have been negative. Similarly, 34 percent of all Kerry ads were negative while 61
    percent of Obama’s have been.

I heard 1/3 of his ads earlier...but that may have been in one battleground state.

given that article, it sounds like the more Obama has stretched his lead, the more he has backed off the negative. (just an observation, not trying to make a point or anything)

That would be the smart thing to do. He has nothing to gain through negative ads at this point, all they could do is potentially hurt him. McCain on the other hand is entering desperate times and is going to try whatever he can to close the gap.
