    Exclamation Virus/Trojan Help

I have another virus or trojan thing in my computer. I was downloading ALOT of music on limewire a couple days ago and one of the files I downloaded wasn't real and it unleashed a bunch of crap on my computer and it's gotten really bad. I tried a system restore but the only restore point was the last time I turned my computer on which was last night. I did a virus scan, and nothing came up on the report. It said it was crystal clear but clearly it isn't. I have a decent internet connection, and it doesn't do anything anymore.
Here's a couple screenshots of the problem. It's changed my desktop wallpaper to this image.

And I've also noticed this annoying little icon on my toolbar. It's this little "Red X" type thingy, and it pops this thing up like every 2-3 minutes or everytime you scroll over it. I tried removing it but there is no option to do so and it doesn't even go to any website if you click it.

I have all my important stuff backed up on my iPod so I'm not really worried if I have to just reset my computer. I wish there was a way to do that but I'm not the best with computers. If anyone can help me out, or at least point me in the right direction to get help I would greatly appriaciate it

Whenever I had issues with spyware or viruses, generally you can google the virus and there will be tips how to get rid of it.

Yeah that is the best thing to do first. Also make sure you only have one antivirus running at once. If you have more than one running at the same time they can be conflicting

Google "windows defender" and install it .... I had some spyware on my computer and after I downloaded and installed Window's Defender everything was good.

That looks a lot like "System Antivirus 2008" which I recently picked up. It's really just more annoying than harmful but hopefully something like windows defender can get rid of it.

I love the instructions for removing viruses. They start with something like "first, find file xxxxxxxx and delete it". Unfortunately the standard windows search can't/doesn't find them and that's the extent of my knowledge on finding files.

If you cant fix it with the advice above, try posting at techsupportforum.com for help.

They will walk you through the whole process until your computer is completely clean, and can make sure nothing else is on your system as well (its free too). I used them when I had a nasty virus on my computer they helped me out and saved me lots of money, as we were going to have a professional come out to the house to fix it.

Glad to hear you got the problem fixed !

    Just an fyi for everyone.............

Even if you use a virus service like norton, which is what I have, they can't catch everything all the time. I was recently infected with "system antivirus 2008" and when I did a scan it said I was A okay. When I contacted them via live "chat" support they said they didn't know what it was but if i paid for a tech then they could help me. I was really pissed off. PAY ? EXTRA ? for removal of a known threat ? kiss my tuccas (big behind works too)!

Ran another scan last night and SAV got removed (deceptive program I believe). Not sure what my point is except maybe communication works ? Sometimes they need our help to pinpoint the risks ? idk
