Anyone ever...
Not get the card they had a redemption for? I sent in a redemption for a 07 contenders rookie ticket of kenny irons last year. I asked donruss about it on their website and they said he still hasn't sent them in. They said I could wait for it or get a card of equal value. Well the card is a super short print #'ed to 50 and beckett lists it at $450. I agreed to take an equal value card and they said today that they didn't have "one" equal value card but would send me 2-3 cards that would equal the irons. So has anyone ever had this happen? How do it work out for you?

Oh man don't get me started on UD. I wrote to them about buying a box of Heroes football and not getting a single jersey or auto card when they list two of each on the box. They asked me to send them the proof of purchase and hologram sticker from the box certified mail. I told them I wasn't picky I just wanted two autos. All that trouble and they send me 1 pack of retail Icons.
And a note stating they hope I continue to buy their products!

I think I would take a chance on the replacement cards since Irons is out of football right now.

He is? My main question is what they consider equal value? Beckett price for the card,or a compareable player.

I certainly would not trade down. Can you find anything from them of comparable value?
Tell them to just send you a check.

Well I'm sure they won't send me a peterson auto
but some other notables are
ahmad bradshaw
brady quinn
calvin johnson
jamarcus russell
marshawn lynch
...I guess two or three of those would be cool?

Yeah he was injured in training camp his rookie year and did not play. Then in pre-season this year the Bengals cut him. I dont recall hearing of him being picked up by any other teams. The only value that card has right now is to set collectors. I had a Topps Chrome auto of him from series A that was pretty rare and I was able to get good value for it in a trade deal with a set collector. Maybe thats the way you should go ?....trade it to someone whos building the set. Thats really the only way you'll have any say in what you receive for it.

From what I hear Donruss are very easy to deal with regarding replacement cards and redemptions. I just recently sent in a damaged LL autod card to Donruss, we'll see how that goes.
Upper Deck and Topps are said to be miles behind Donruss customer service.
