    Could This be Bad?

Today during my weights class in gym, i was doing my normal workout i do everyday, but i usually finish it with 5-10 minutes still left in class so i decided to kinda do more than i could, i tried pulling to much weight than i can and i felt a pain shoot up my arm for about 10-15 minutes and it hurt pretty bad. is this bad? it doesnt hurt anymore but i had never felt that kind of pain before

Sounds like the kind of pain that doesn't really fall into the "no pain no gain" category, lol.

The fact that it doesn't hurt now is a good thing, and means you should be fine.

If you pulled something you would still feel it.

If it still doesn't hurt tomorrow, then chalk it up as a lesson learned to not over exert yourself and move on.

Not sure exactly what you did to yourself, but it doesn't sound like anything serious.

Did you do free weights or weight machines? When I use weight machines, sometimes the radial nerves in my arms hurt immediately afterward, but the pain is temporary and dissipates after a bit.

If it's something else, it may have just been a temporary strain..but monitor it tomorrow to see if the pain comes back.

it was a machine, don;t know what its called but you have a bar and you just pull it down and set the weight. i usually do 110 right now, but the max is 220.

i hope i explained is as best as possible, but without a picture its hard to mention

I haven't tried the pull-down machines myself, but it might also put pressure on the radial nerve. The machines I use involve bicep pull and tricep push-forward, so those are the only ones I can really advise on..anyhow, just take what BB and I said and you'll probably be fine. :) I've actually injured myself more with treadmill running than with weightlifting, and I increase both gradually.

WIth as many nerves as there are in the human body, my guess is you over exerted one. If it doesn't hurt anymore, you should be alright

It only hurt in one arm? I know what machine you are talking about and it just seems strange for it to only hurt one of your arms. Maybe your hands were a little lopsided or something....
