Ah, the beloved ring of death. I got that like 4 months after the 360 came out. Microsoft sent be a "new" system and its worked ever since (knock on wood). However, I have a friend who has had to send his in either five or six times. Best of luck to ya

thankfully i have never had this issue.
i just recently got an elite and sold my regular 360 on ebay.
i have had one go belly up, but it wasnt the RROD and it was still under the Best Buy warranty.

I went through it too. They fix them differently now , instead of re soldering the chipmount they replace it with one that runs alot cooler

I went through two 360's .... thank god I had the best buy warranty. Took that bad boy back and went with a PS3 and never looked back! Glad I did, IMO PS3 blows the 360 outta the water hands down.

it depends upon what you mean when you say it blows the 360 out of the water.
graphics? only certain games have they impressed me and yes i own all 3 of the gaming systems.
their online community still is very lacking as far as finding friends, hooking up for games etc.
their trophy thing which was to equal the achievements that the 360 has, have never really totally materialized as they dont even use them in all of the new games. They are at the developers discretion.
I love the fact that the ps3 has the blue ray player and think that very soon it will surpass the 360, but for right now I still think the 360 is an overall better gaming system.

the replacement 360's should now be the ones that don't over heat so you shouldn't have an issue anymore.
a buddy of mine just had his PS3 crash after 6 months.
IMO, the blue ray is the only + of the ps3

I don't have any problems with the PS3 online. Throw the disc in, connect and bam within a few minutes I'm whoopin up on someone from god knows where. Finding people isn't all that difficult really, if you know their PSN. And as far as the trophies or achievement whatever they are well they don't really matter to me all that much so that is a personal preference.
Graphic wise .... you still have yet to see what the PS3 can do as far as that goes, most of the developers have not even come close to producing a game the PS3 can actually handle so as time goes on I think people will start to see the real difference between the 2 systems (360 and PS3) as I don't consider the Wii a "gaming" system.
and the Blu-Ray is just an added bonus, and Microsoft Lost out on that BIG TIME!!!
edit: guess I'll add that in no way am I a "fanboy" but rather just like getting the most for my money and so far PS3 has been just that for me.
