    Cool Yesterdays New Arrivals

    All 08 topps chrome refractors.
    2 reds #'d/25, 1 blue (Pujols), 1 tchc #d / 400(also Pujols) and one kobayashi auto ref.#'d / 500

Despite turning of the flash ,
the overhead lights caused a bit of white out here and there.
Work was horrifically boring yesterday. These got me thru the day.
The pujols insert ref is freakin magnificent !

Very nice - that Pujols seems like it'd be a nice refractor. A lot of the cards in that set have a poor design for the refractor finish.

    agree !
    the busier the background
the less the WOW effect the refractor has.

Check out a jim thome ref. the background is mostly infield (grass / dirt)
the refractor WOW effect is high.

look at some cards with alot of fans / dugout/ players etc in the background and there are times youre like
oh thats a refractor huh ? really ?? oh yeah there it is ...

And Topps is starting to do it with their base sets - too much noise makes for unattractive refractors. Their Bowman sets are perfect - simple and nicely designed, so the parallels are always great.

Ive noticed that about the Bowman refractors as well.
My wife said and i quote " hey these are more refractory then the topps"

Despite that, i find the bowman chrome kind of a yawner.
    not sure why, just do.

I don't like Bowman Chrome either - I just like the way they look. I don't like the fact that it's basically refractor or bust, no inserts or anything like that.

Thats it in a nutshell for me too i guess.

    Although,
At first i was like "oh whats that head of the class insert series ?"
then i saw the odds and knew i wasnt pulling another.
even without the autos the card design itself is INTERESTING.
too bad there was no creativity at all with the rest of em.
