Obama Raises Stunning $150M in September
WASHINGTON: September's record figure pushes Barack Obama's total fundraising to $605 million.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama raised more than $150 million in September, a stunning and unprecedented eruption of political giving that has given him a wide spending advantage over rival John McCain.
All i have to say is WOW, maybe if hes elected he can keep raising money like this and the National Debt will be paid off in a couple of years.

Interesting thought....but why try to lower the debt when there are so many social programs that could use that money?

True, but either way it wont happen. When he gets in Office all he will be doing is spending more, maybe he should raise the money himself to start any of the new programs he wants.
Thats what needs to be done. Get the rich to donate and use it to pay for much needed things.
Why couldnt this work? Hes raised 150 million in one month

Just wanted to make sure it was documented that I was being sarcastic....

I think that's a great idea. Since things are so bad right now, if you want to start any new programs or increase any existing ones, you have to raise the money yourself. I'd vote for that in a heartbeat!

If he can raise 150 million a month to waste on tv ads and the like, why couldnt he raise money for much more important things? I think we may have found one of the answers to fix the economy. Maybe we need to run for President lmao.
Just imagine how much he could raise if teamed with all of his celebrity friends, and just went around the US hosting dinners and such at some ungawdly amount of money per plate.

Here's the rub...most people don't actually want to help. They like to give some money every four years and think they're helping the world to be a better place, but then they want to go back to wasting money on themselves. If people did actually want to change things, we wouldn't have half as many homeless or hungry...there is a enough disposable income in this country to feed, clothe, and shelter everybody several times over.

Since you're questioning Obama, why can't McCain help the economy with the money he's raising? Most of his ads are negative ads. His ads have done nothing but widen the gap. Isn't that a waste of money?
Has it occured to you that people are donating to Obama because they believe he will change the economy and put more money into their pockets the next four years? Donate now, reap the benefits later. I guess you can call it investing in a President.

I only spoke about Obama as this is what the thread was about. McCain hasnt raised nearly as much money as Obama. I am not sayign this as a way to bash Obama in anyway shape or form,
