SCF Racing Team Challenge - Chase Edition (Race 7)

Welcome to another running of the Racing Team Challenge!
This contest is open to anyone that wants to participate.

    Here are the basic rules:

    1. Pick 4 different drivers as your “team” that you think will have the best chance of finishing in the top 4 of the race. NO “TEAMS” HAVING ONE DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE FOR A RACE! HOWEVER YOU CAN CHOOSE THE SAME DRIVERS EVERY WEEK IF YOU WISH.

    2. The goal of this is to have the BEST average finish with the 4 drivers you pick.
Example: If someone picked the drivers that finished 2, 4, 10, 17 (average finish - 8.25) and if someone else picked the drivers that finished 6, 7, 12, 27 (average finish - 13). The one with the average finish 8.25 would win as it is the best.
    3. Picks and tie breakers can be changed until the start of qualifying. Any changes to your post after qualifying starts will have you disqualified for the race.

    4. After the tenth race, if more than one member has the best average of the ten race averages, a tie breaker is required. The questions that will help break any ties are:

    1. Who will win the Ford 400? If we are still tied go to question #2.
    2. Who will win the 2008 Sprint Cup Championship? If we are still tied go to question #3.
    3. Without going over, what will the average speed of the Ford 400 race be? If any winners make it through question 1 and 2, and everybody goes over the average speed then it will fall to the closest to the average speed, BUT ONLY IF EVERYBODY THAT MAKES IT GOES OVER IN THE SPEED.

THESE TIE BREAKERS MUST BE ANSWERED BEFORE THE START OF THIS RACE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A LOSS IF TIED. Also, they do not have to be posted again if they are the same as before. The tie breakers can be changed up until the start of qualifying for the 7th race of this contest, but do not change them after qualifying starts for this race or you will be disqualified for this race.

    5. Since there is a weekly winner, a tie breaker is needed as well for it. The tie breaker to help determine the weekly winner is:

    1. Without going over, where will Dale Earnhardt Jr. finish in this race?

Guesses for this will be first come first serve for this tie breaker, so please check everyone else's guess before making your own. IF EVERYONE GOES OVER, IT WILL BE THE CLOSEST BUT ONLY IF EVERYONE GOES OVER WITH THEIR GUESS.

    6. Missing a race from this or getting disqualified will get you an average finish of 45.5. That is the average finish for positions 44, 45, 46, 47. So make sure you don’t miss a race or get disqualified!

    7. The member that has the best average finish for each race and overall for the ten races will be awarded the prize(s) mentioned below.

    8. Most important rule is to have fun doing this as well as watching the race.

    PRIZES:
    Weekly winner:
    100cc

    Overall winner:
2007 Press Pass Double Burner Metal-Tire DB-DH Denny Hamlin

Picks MUST be replied to this thread (do not PM me your picks) before the start of qualifying.

    Qualifying:
    Pep Boys Auto 500 qualifying
    Friday, October 24 - 7:00pm ESPN2

    The race:
Pep Boys Auto 500 - Atlanta Motor Speedway
    Sunday, October 26 - 1:00pm ABC

The results are in and the standings have been updated. They can be seen here: https://www.sportscardforum.com/showthread.php?t=574815

You will notice that I have redone the overall standings. I wasn't going to do this, but after much thought I did. However, nothing has changed with them except that race 7 has been added and they are no longer divided by the number of races that have taken place. This will give everyone a realistic idea of just how far back you are from the top. Also, your best finish in this can be 2.5 and worst being 41.5. That is 39 spots that anyone can make up or lose in a single race. This change to the overall standing will be reflected when race eight gets posted.

Thanks everyone for taking part in this. Race eight will be posted soon, and congrats to the weekly winner...nadeau01_johnson48. That is your fourth win during this, and you are making a strong run at trying to win this overall! Your prize will be taken care of soon as well.

    Thanks again!

    Darin
