    OH Gosh..........

I cant believe Im seeing another thread like this? lol

First of all, I do not simply wont compare Iverson, Kobe and Lebron.

Just because they put up similar numbers, doesnt mean they are similar players or better or worse players than each other.

Iverson is the best crossover dribbler, quickest guard in NBA, someone who loves to go inside to score.

Kobe is the guy who used to go inside a lot (he still does), but ever since he developed his jump shots, he relies a lot on his mid range and 3pt shots to rack up his pts.

Lebron is a player who just loves to go insde because he is built. He is so big and strong compared to others even Kobe who is pretty built too. I cant even count how many times Lebron got "and one".

I believe stats does not mean anything but winning does. For example, a player would not play as hard if his team is up like 20 or 30 pts and a superstar player like kobe or lebron would be on the bench if that happens to prevent injury.

Also, as long as the team wins, kobe can dish out 10 assists instead of 30 pts.
    See my point?

Direct comparison is really really hard to do in NBA unless each player had same teammates which is impossible.

If I have to pick one player, you guys would know whom I would pick but still that is just personal opinion.

    P.S. To lukehoyt19
What do you mean when you say "kobe should learn this aspect of his game instead of firing up ridiculous shots."?

You think Kobe should become like Iverson and do crossover? Thats not his game.
If he is defended by a smaller guys, he will post up just like Lebron does often.
If kobe is defended by a bigger guys, he will drive inside or step out to shoot 3s or mid-range. (Think when he is defended by K-mart of AK47).

Or do you mean kobe should drive inside little bit more? Im really confused because kobe scores half of his points by going inside (either making layups or FTs).

my comment was directed at gladdys post in another thread. He sad lebron racks up points because he is aggressive in the paint. and i agree but he should not be faulted because he has a presence down there that cant be matched defensively. I was just trying to disprove his arguement and show that size doesn't matter in the paint. Which is why i brought up iverson.

I think that kobe and lebron are the two players who will be most responsible for making this game better and more fun to watch. I was not excited about basketball season for 5 years after jordan retired. Kobe was fun to watch but no one could stop him defensively no one compared in the league. Now Kobe has a rival in lebron. They both respect eachother and i respect both. But when it comes down to numbers after 5 years lebron is the better player. We will see what happens this year now that lebron has a "pippen" or "shaq" with mo williams. If Lebron wins a title he is no doubt the better if he doesn't his career still has time. Let's no forget he is already rivaling kobe and he isn't even 25, he hasn't hit his prime.

no but he is solid number 2. In no way did I compare him to those two but those were kobe and jordans number two's in their hay day. Sounds like you are running out of excuses when fact is thrown your way.

Can Kobe see cleveland from his house?

in that case steve kerr should be in the mix since he is a great shooter.

agreed, it should be retired in honor of the greatest player in NBA history. MJ!!!

this will get intresting, and you say "why not take an easier way to make the points"
well when you say LeBrick is a better "shooter" that consists of jumpshots, layups dont make a great player, i make my layups, and i am terrible at basketball so what does that tell everyone?

Everyone knows Kobe has a better, nicer and more consistent shot. well everyone except you and Jeremy...

    Huh????
size definitely matters in the paint....name any other point guard that divebombs the paint besides iverson looking for contact like he does....i just think iverson is a bad example for this point

I am not sure if Lebron is a better player just yet.

To be honest with you, I do think Lebron will become a better player than kobe in his prime.

But as of right now, Lebron isn't.

Kobe is the "best" clutch shooter in NBA right now and I doubt anyone will ever question that.

Also he is one of the best shooter in the NBA. Remember, kobe holds a record or two in terms of 3 pt shooting.

Lebron is a beast inside and he definitely has an edge over kobe in that respect.

However, people have questioned his ability to shoot and there is certainly a reason why.

Yes, he can make a 3 pt shots and everything but in terms of "whos closer to MJ or best all around player" it has to be Kobe.

Regardless of whos better player, I honest think they are both good and NBA's best players.

You're right. If Lebron can win a championship with his team, it would be very amazing.

I just don't like how people say Lebron is a better player just because they almost won over Celtics in 7 while kobe and the Lakers got blown in the Finals in 6.

Celtics were playing 100 times better in the Finals.

    You're a fan....you just won't admit it. ;)

Who isnt a fan of lebron? i mean really. you can hate him all you want. but when he's driving in the lane, you know you want to see him throw it down over KG or whoever it may be. Personally, I'd take lebron on my team any day of the year. Kobe is more clutch. Lebron is better throughout the other 47 minutes :) LeBron makes his team mates better, kobe chooses to take matters into his own hands. not giving his team mates a chance to prove themselves. just my opinion though. i thought i would get this thread fired up. :)

LeBron could if he wanted to. but he likes to get his team mates involved. You know there is more than 1 player on a team :)
