Pretty obvious he is over-doing the fake accent. That said, I wouldn't blame Palin if she talked to him just to be sure that it wasn't someone serious. Now if she actually believed it was the real guy then that is a different story.

Agreed...when you're running for election, you don't talk bad to or hang up on anyone, just in case. I would bet she's talked to real people who are just as bad or worse than that!

I can't tell if people defend Palin because they really think she's a good choice, or if they are that determined to see obama lose that they have convinced themselves she's not dumb

it isn't that. It is that all the candidates have made stupid comments and done stupid things, but only Palin's have knocked public perception of her. The other three have gotten a pass for their stupid comments.

I would defend any politician in that situation, talking to nuts just comes with the turf
