An important component of Padres' baseball is a long-standing commitment to community philanthropy. In 1995, owner John Moores established The Padres Foundation, the organization’s charitable arm. The Foundation continues to meet the needs of children with specific emphases on education, recreation, and health.



The funds received from Fan Pack donations benefit the Padres Scholars Program (education), the Little Padres Parks Program (recreation), and the Cindy Matters Fund (underwriting the Padres’ pediatric oncology research at UCSD). The Padres Foundation falls under the umbrella of The San Diego Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative.
