Better for Nascar?
Jimmie Johnson's 3-peat or Carl Edwards winning the Chase?
Saw this on TV today and wanted to hear your opinions. Please keep it to serious discussion, not the obligatory "because I want him to win."

Jimmie Johnson 3-peat. Obviously I'm biased because I like him, but seriously....it'd be a dynasty.
Every sport that has a dynasty always draws a ton of interest, because you either like them, or you absolutely hate them, and regardless, you'll tune in every week to either see him/them win, or to hope that he/they lose.
So I say three-peat.

it doesn't matter either way. nascar's attempt to bring "parity" and reduce the costs for teams by bringing the cot has failed. it isn't any fun to watch when you know one of three guys is going to win every week.
i mean 3 guys have 22 wins out of 34. sucks if you ask me. nascar needs to go to a profit sharing system to help the lower funded teams compete.
but on the subject at hand, a 3 peat is the last thing nascar needs right now. the chase needs to be eliminated, it isn't the answer they were looking for.
so for me, an edwards championship is the only answer

Carl Edwards winning. I think it'd make it more exciting and make everything not so expectable.

Who cares, until Francar changes things back to where we are going to get real racing again there is no Champion, just the season end point leader.
these last 2 years have been the worst events I have ever seen (All in the name of safety?????)
Gotta make the cars safer so here is a new car (Just don't adjust this or change that and if it is harder to control so be it)
Lets' put a big wing on the back to control speeds more (never mind that now the driver behind can't see the guy in front's hand signals when he is slowing down)
Let's work on the tires so they don't outlast the gas mileage and force more pitstops(INDY- enough said)
Let's lock in the top 35 cars so the big money teams are always there and force everyone else to set up their cars differently to compete for 6 or 7 spots, then when the race startts they'll be ou tof the Hendricks/Rousch/Gibbs guys way ( yeah so there are cars on the track that are 3 or 4 seconds slower in the race so they get caught by the leaders sooner....that won't cause any safety issues will it?)
So until Francar sees the stupidity and starts to change things back to where we might get some real racing again, congrats to the points leader.
Now what channel is the truck series on? I think I'll go watch some real racing, until Francar sees that fans are actually enjoying the RACING and change the trucks......."To make them Safer".

I think Carl winning would be better. Everyone is expecting Jimmie to win again this year. It'll be a big surprise if he doesn't.

Biased but I'm going with Edwards winning...jimmie was killing it which could turn off viewers/casual fans...the more competition the better

Howdy, im a Hendricks fan but will be rooting for Edwards to win, JJ has stolen enough of Jeffs thunder.. then they bring in Jr & Martin to steal more...
I HATE the new "CHASE" but am "HAPPY as a pig in &#@*" about it this year cause it robbed the 18 of his chance to win it, tho under the OLD system he might still be ahead, bet he hates the "CHASE" this year...
They need to reconfigure how points are awarded, points for poles, besides points for leading a lap & the most led, give a point for every 10 laps led also, that way if a driver leads 200 laps thats 20 xtra points that he deserves even if its more than the winner gets...
Like my friend Tom says, JJ is "flat" in his attitude & interviews, he doesnt seem to show as much excitement bout winning as say Edwards or even Biffle
How come the "BUSCH" & Truck series dont have a "CHASE"... cause there would prob. be even fewer fans watching than now, & if CUP drivers stayed out of the "BUSCH" series i might watch, i can watch the CUP drivers win on Sundays...
Prob. more than asked for but... until i own NASCAR, nothings going to change for the better as far as fans are concerned, cause they dont care tho they claim they do...

Amen, Steve!!!
Before $$$ got into the equation, NASACR was awesome to watch. NOW outside of the big races (the plate tracks, the 600, and the short tracks) I could care less about racing, I have fell asleep watching more races this year than the last five years!

Bitter much? Stealing Jeff's thunder? No, I think Letarte is doing a good job of that by being a terrible crew chief. Don't blame Jimmie.
And BTW, under the old system, Kyle would still be over 100 points behind Jimmie, who would be the leader under the old system as well as the new system.
