I don't believe anyone has said Bush has reached across the isle.
But Obama is the man preaching change and saying he will work across the isle. Turn it around on Bush, if and when Obama fais l too will ya?

I asked a question! I really didn't know. I never said anyone stated anything about Bush. Seriously, reread my post again.
He can "change" without reaching across the table. Here's the problem. You guys are basically demanding Obama do this, do that and it looks like you want it done ASAP. Get real. He doesn't have to put a bunch of Republicans into his White House. Has he promised that or something? If so, enlighten me.

YEs he has said he would put republicans in.
Front-running Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said in a TV interview Wednesday that he would place Republicans in his cabinet if he wins the election, but stopped short of saying it would include current Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

It comes off sounding like you expect him to staff his team with a majority of Reps.
He will have some Reps in there, but it is unrealistic, unfounded and foolish to assume it will be a 50/50 thing. However, he was adamant about putting Reps on his team/Cabinet, which says more about his openness for knowledgeable people, regardless of party ("I have always been more than happy to steal ideas from whatever the source"), than anything. We really only have his word to go off of right now, but this isn't just a campaign any more. Obama knows he has to deliver now that he mentioned this, and I believe he will.
The only thing this really affects is party politics, not necessarily the actual issues. Obama knows this, and he will select capable Reps to appease the party lines. But at the same time, he has to establish a competent (hopefully) team in the process, again without regard to Reps/Dems.
