The Break

The base set is attractive and I like the baseball laces at the top corners. The thick card stock used is a plus as well. The back has a player bio with a summary of their statistics.

Autographed Rookies



The card design is the same as the base but with a foil stock. The back is the same as the base with a bio and summary of the player's statistics.

Rookie Class


The rookie card design is the same as the rookie autographs. We pulled parallels of the 2 pictured. Engel Beltra is the Emerald version numbered to 250 and the Charlie Furbush is Platinum and numbered to 25.

Diamond Kings

The Diamond Kings are a signature insert of Donruss. This set does not disappoint. I like the tan base and the cloth look. Chris Valaika and Josh Vitters are unnumbered. The Rich Porcello is a silver parallel numbered to 250.
Century Stars


Century Legends

The Century Legends cards are made of the same thick card stock as the base. The back of this card had an intersting piece of trivia about Mr. Killebrew.

Don Mattingly Diamond Kings Dual GU #'ed to 150

While a dual game used of Don Mattingly sounds exciting this card is a bit boring. This is the same design Donruss has been using for a while. I would like to see some originality in their Diamond King game used products.

Duke Snider Diamond Kings Autograph #'ed to 50

I like the fact that an autographed version of Diamond Kings is available but the sticker that is used takes away from the look of the card. It seems to disappear on the rookie autographs but sticks out like a sore thumb on the Diamond Kings. It is an autograph of Duke Snider so I won't complain too much. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed opening this box. There is a great mixture of rookies, current players and retired players. There were several inserts and numbered cards in this box and it adds to the fun factor. Heck, we pulled 2 Pete Rose cards!!!
We pulled 5 "hits" in the box when 4 were guaranteed!
The $4.00 srp makes this an affordable product for all collectors with a chance at a big hit.
