How long have YOU raced?
Whether it is real life or in video games (or possibly both), how long have you raced for? Also, do you still race today?
Please give a story for your answer to this so others can have an insight about YOUR racing career.
Here is my story:For me, it has been since late 1992 and all in video games. I had just gotten a Super Nintendo with some games for Christmas. One of the games was Super Mario Kart (a go kart racing game for those that don’t know). At that time, I wasn’t interested in watching actual racing on TV, and usually when it was on I would find something else to do so I didn‘t have to watch or listen to it. Yeah, I guess I was your typical ball and stick person at the time. I loved baseball only at the time, and never understood why anyone wanted to watch racing (especially when it was in circles). It wasn’t until 1998 that I actually found interest in watching it on TV. That was when I really got bit by the racing bug, and started to understand why others liked it so much. I have been a fan since. Anyways, for about 5 years, I just enjoyed racing as long as I was the one doing the racing (even if it was in a video game).OK. I’ve told you my story. What’s your’s?
I was actually for the longest time loyal to just Nintendo for video games, but they stopped putting out NASCAR games for the Gamecube after 2004 (the last one was NASCAR Chase For The Cup 2005), so I had to get another system if I wanted a more modern game. The newer systems are nice (but also too expensive for me). So, I just went with the same generation system as the Gamecube…the Playstation 2.
I still race from time to time today, but it is either on the Gamecube or Playstation 2. The games I play (or should I say do my racing on) are Mario Kart Double Dash (Gamecube), Ford Racing 3 (Playstation 2), NASCAR 06 Total Team Control (Playstation 2), and NASCAR 08 (Playstation 2).

I remember back in 1998 Santa left us a Nascar Play Station game. I loved playing it. I would always race Mike Skinner's can because he had the same name as dad and I didnt know who anyone else was...
I played that one for years.
Then we got a Play Station 2 and the 2006 Nascar game. That one is definately my favorite. I like doing the thing where you start out in modifides and work up to Cup..you have to earn money to buy bigger teams and stuff. I eventually got up to Cup which was great. New Hampshire is the only track I can win at every time. I usually end up putting at least half the other cars a lap down. Daytona and Talladega I havent gotten the hang of yet..I try to draft and it never works! I'm always in the infield..haha.
Then we got the 2007 Nascar game for Play Station 2. I havent played that one as much just because its similar to 06.
I dont have much time to play anymore though.

As Long as I can remember I've raced in one way or the other. My Dad Raced Dirt Mini~Modifieds throughout my childhood (as if it's over).....
He did pretty good for a guy who didn't have a bunch of money to invest.
This was My Favorite car of his

All the drivers kids would hang out in the pits runnin foot races around a track made of barrells after the race and up & down the frontstretch in front of the bleachers during the race.
At home we would get together and race our bikes around the abandoned gas station down the road from our house towing one another behind the bikes on the bottom of a shopping cart makeshift go-kart. There were some battle wounds at every race.
Then we graduated up to building go-karts when we got a little older but nobody went Pro......
I Street Raced 87-88 in a 1987 Honda Civic SI & 92-93 in a 77 Camaro
In 2000 I built a Custom Racecar for my Ps2, all done up it Gordon posters and ads with a camaro seat, PS2 Steering Wheel and pedals mounted. I Like to Play all Racing Games but My Most Recent Completion was to Beat Ridge Racer 6 (xbox360), I actually got kinda bored with the Nascar Games because I like road courses more than ovals.
I'm lookin for Santa to maybe bring a PS3 and Ridge Racer 7

Good question!
Ive raced on video games since F-zero on the Super NES lol-and since the first Nascar Racing game by Papyrus came out in 94 ive been playing those (NR03 modded up now obviously since 2003-it is current for me with the COT and 09 paints-I still play it cause its the closest ill get haha). As far as who ive raced with-never with Dale Jr-Ive raced a couple late night races with Denny Hamlin, Brad and Brian Keselowski-and yes the majority of the time I got smoked-specially by denny when we ran Pocono haha.
Now for my real racing career lol: I raced go-karts from 1996 to 2002-03 in North Dakota before I moved up here-i t was a blast-I was the champion in my division in 98 and finished no lower than 3rd every yr i competed-heres a pic of my kart and trophy pic (its blurry i know haha)

I crewed DIRT modifieds in the northeast from 1980 or so through 1990. Owned & drove my own SBM at East Windsor NJ in 1982 & 83 as well as a DIRT Sportsman at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown NY in 1988 & 1989. Moved to SC in 1990 and crewed for Bown Racing in the Busch series of NASCAR from about 1992-1996. Turned down an offer to go full time professional with Matt Kenesth when they started their Busch team and went into the ministry instead. Have never regretted that choice.

Anyone else have a racing career that they would want to share with everyone?

I raced a Little over in Taiwan in Formula Renault(Basically like the Open Wheel Formula Ford Cars that run here) Didnt do it for too long as I only spent 6 months there before going to the Philippines for 2 years. Currently I crew for my Dad and Family friend with their cars at the Local Track(Douglas County Speedway). 2 Ford Pinto mini stocks. In the process of paying off bills and looking for A car for myself.
Long boring story on why both cars are #23...Basically the guy who drives the First #23 had a heart attack before the 07 season while we were rebuilding the car. Ended up taking most the 07 season off and let him drive in 08 because my dad's work really screwed with his hours.
