    The Wuss Rock Phenomena

I am contemplating spearheading a federal bill that would criminalize the composition, playing, recording, or listening to wuss rock bands like Coldplay, James Blunt, The Fray, Counting Crows, etc...

Simply put, they are killing rock music.

These bands are a considerable chunk of a larger problem of the "vanillafication" of America, but that's another rant to be enjoyed at a later date.. much like a fine Bordeaux.

I agree somewhat. But I am not worried about rock getting ruined. I am worried about music: get rid of country, rap, and disney singers.

Actually, rock is pretty much dead. There are a few bands still putting out the real stuff, but most of it has factioned off into crappy rock offspring genres. Such as the wannabe angst rock like Disturbed, Trapt, Drowning Pool, Sevendust, Shinedown, Hinder, etc. Then there's the wannabe punk pop like Simple Plan, Papa Roach, Good Charlotte, and even recent Blink 182. And the wannabe emo rock like Teagan and Sarah, Panic! at the Disco, Coheed and Cambria, Fallout Boy, etc. And you can't forget the mainstream rock sellouts like Nickleback, 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Snow Patrol, etc that play the same three songs with different lyrics over and over. Creed wrote the manual on that one. Not much worth listening to out there. Maybe one day we'll have a rock revival and REAL rock music will become popular again....

Oh and you have to add Keane to that list...man I hate those guys.

I agree with everything except one thing. Coheed is one of the few bands pushing music right now. There music is very sophisticated. The guitar skills and writing skills that claudio possesses are phenomenal. The saga they are producing is my second favorite "story telling" rock next to Pink Floyd (not comparing)

Thats the great thing about music...lots of variety. If you don't like it, don"t listen.

Yeah, Coheed and Cambria is Progressive, far from emo rock or whatever you labeled it as and is definitely more sophisticated than you are giving it credit for.

That's why you shouldn't listen to mainstream rock. Give me indie death metal.
