The refs started the whole thing by not blowing the whistle on that check...oops I meant pick by Barnes.
Makes the NBA look bad.
I guess they're telling us they'd rather have a fight/injuries then blow a whistle.

I just watch the thing on NBA.com. Looks like Barnes just tried to go through the screen a little harder than normal. A foul, uncalled for, but possibly unintentional. Wasn't anything dangerous that would've hurt Alston. It looks like Alston completely overreacted though. Alston should get the most time from this. I think they should still suspend the players who laid their hands on another person for at least one game. but no more than maybe three.

are you all serious? im a rockets fan, but if someone tries to go through me like that, im going to punch them in the mouth! and that would be the last time someone lowered there shoulder on me...i think that thoughs who think that barnes just went through a screen agressively have either never played ball at all, or have only played street ball with no rules...either way barnes and alston will both be suspended

Wow, did you even watch the "brawl". It was Barnes that started the whole thing. I don't even know if you can call that a brawl, it was more like a mix up. I thought the funniest part was when Shaq started pusing everyone around.

me and hector are on the same page...but shaq was only pushing people in the back and then at the end went after the smallest person on the court being alston...i would like to see what would have happened if ron artest and joey dorsey would have been on the court...its in my best interest that artest was not on the court as he would have been ejected for just being there

I think it should be a blanket punishment. Anyone involved in the skirmish should get 5 games easy as that. Everyone pushing and shoving looked stupid.
This is coming from a Suns fan. And the last thing I want is Nash (more of a bystander), Shaq, and Barnes out. But they were part of it and they deserve punishment.

There were punches thrown. Suspensions, if any, will be minor. Maybe 1-3 games for a few or the participants (Alston, Barnes, Shaq, Nash)
