Racing novice here...

I have a small collection (50) of racing cards, and while I know who the drivers are, I have no idea whether they are good cards or not, so I am turning to the experts for some help! Not nessesarily looking for BVs, but those would be nice too....I guess I am just looking at whether these are good tradebait or not. Thanks for any and all help!

1999 Hasbro Lifetime Series Dale Earnhardt (I believe it came with a 1:64 car)

Then I have something I got off ebay years ago - 32 of a at least 104 card set commemorating Richard Petty. 1992 Food Lion month-by-month set...if anyone knows anything about this, I'll list numbers too.

I can get pictures of any that are harder to describe if that will help.

i do not presently have access to BV - - (gotta pay beckett)
while not necessarily gotta haves they do have some tradability.

The Food Lion Cards will be, at most, $.75 each.

They are nothing to write home about, to be honest. The Earnhardts, Gordons, Stewart and the Martin MAY generate some interest, but you're almost not going to get anything spectacular in return. The Marlin you will probably be stuck with for life, unless the rare opportunity comes up that someone needs it to finish a set. The Pro Set cards were incredibly overproduced, think late 80's baseball or 90-91 Hoops basketball! The Food Lion cards are pretty easy to come by if anyone is looking for them in particular. I know of 1 guy on another site who is a pretty big Waltrip collector, but he may be the only one in the world LOL! There are a few Rusty fans on here who might be able to help you, but I'm not sure. Sorry to be brutally honest, but I hope it helped.

Thanks guys! No problem about being brutally honest...I'd rather have that than someone sugar-coating stuff that's garbage. I'm not sure about trading them right now...I may end up doing that, but I need to see if it would really be worth it.

I may be stuck with the Marlin for life?? If I include it as a freebie in a trade, I may have it returned to me?!? LOL I can tell you that I've never heard of the guy...I know the others, but can't say that I've ever heard his name!

Anyway, thanks for all the help! This'll make it easier to determine what's tradable! :-)

A little background on Sterling Marlin:

He started his cup career in 1976, substituting for his father, Clifton "Coo Coo" Marlin.
He has 10 career wins
He is one of only 3 drivers to ever win back-to-back Daytona 500s (Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty)
He has 740 career starts
He very well could have won the 2002 Winston Cup had it not been for a severe neck injury he suffered in a race at Kansas Speedway late in the season. His replacement, Jamie McMurray, won in only his second career start at Charlotte that fall.

He was a very good racer, especially on restrictor plate tracks (Daytona, Talladega), he just was never really popular in the card collecting world, at least not to my knowledge.
