My Favorite IP Story
This is a story that I love to share, and some of the old Beckett guys will probably know this already. So here goes:
My dad is an avid hunter and has a well-trained hunting dog. He personally trained the dog (named Stormy, lol), and she's an amazing dog, obidient, etc. Well, the old Ohio State Line Backer Anthony Schlegel is also an avid hunter and need his dog trained, so he went to my dad! My dad and I both got to meet Schlegel, and he's an amazing person. He was still at Ohio State at the time we met him.
When we finally met him, we talked for a while about everything; football, hunting, etc. Not long before he left, I asked him to sign an Ohio State football and a program that he was on the cover of. He responds with a "No, I don't think I can do that right now. But I can take it back with me and get a few of the guys to sign it." Um, yeah! He also took a picture with me (my COA if you will, lol).
About a month later, he comes back to pick up his dog. Out of his truck, he pulls out my football and program. The program was signed by Schlegel, AJ Hawk, and Bobby Carpenter. The football was signed by Schlegel, Hawk, Carpenter, Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr., Roy Hall, Donte Whitner, Nate Salley Jr., and Tyler Everett. I was just a little bit excited!
Since then, my dad and I have talked to him a few other times. He also signed a Jets hat, a Bengals hat, 2 cards, and an 8x10 for me. Also, the Bengals hat he signed for me, he also got signed by Bengals Center Eric Ghiaciuc. Most recently, he gave my dad and I his cell number and his house address (he's since moved).
Anthony will always be my favorite player, and I will always be grateful for everything he's given me and signed for me. Thanks a lot Anthony!
I just wanted to share that story of amazing kindness with all of you at SCF! Comments are welcome!

That's a great story. Sometimes we focus too much on the autograph itself, and forget about the meaning, meeting the player, etc.
That's a once-in-a-lifetime for you there. Thanks for sharing.
