Exclamation 86-87 Fleer Basketball set valuing(extremely good condition)

    Hello folks,

This is my first post here so please be patient with me. Nov 4th my father passed away and we were going through his belongings and came across his set of 86-87 Fleer Basketball set that he had been working on for years. He had taken it to a dealership and they said it was the best condition set they have ever heard of let alone seen. All the big cards are in premium condition, centered, corners, surface condition the whole set. We are wondering what is the best way to sell this set, as a whole, individual(this would be sad), and if we were to get it graded, who is generally the best company to send it to. The Jordan alone I'm guessing would grade at 9.5/10 as well as the other premium cards. I'm just looking for some advice. Our thoughts are to try for a sale next year about Hall of fame time :).

    Thank you

Selling it as a set would be most beneficial. People are willing to pay more for a complete set than they are total price for the individual cards. Especially THAT set. You might want to send them en masse to PSA for grading (they have a cheaper rate for bulk grading than Beckett). It would be a pricey investment, but you could move a high-condition graded set for thousands of dollars.

First off, sorry about your father.

I have seen people do both on ebay.
    1. Sell the set as a whole, with key RCs graded.
    2. Sell the key RCs individually. Then sell the remaining cards as a group lot.

I think it depends on how your key RCs grade out. If you get unbelievable grades, then #2 makes you more money. If you believe the cards are superior condition, BGS has a tougher standard and will get you better resale prices.
