Team Layoffs
Since the season ended seems like more and more teams are layin off now.
The Unofficial Layoffs:
DEI -- 116 Employees
Ganassi -- 71 (from shutdown of the #40 team in June)
Petty -- 23
Wood Brothers -- 22
Stewart-Haas -- 16
Hendrick -- 12
Hall of Fame -- Unknown
Yates -- Unknown
Bill Davis -- Unknown, but down to bare bones staff at shop
Thoughts?

That's a lot of people! I'm surprised Stewart-Haas is already laying people off.. since they haven't even been on the track yet.

Sad, very sad! I am kinda glad that RCR isn't on that list. I am amazed BDR is on that list with Benson winning the championship and all.

Thats what I was thinkin also, but I guess it just wasnt enough. But it said they were down to bare bones staff at the shop so maybe it was mostly the cup guys that are gone and they kept most of the truck guys?

From what I understand, most of the layoffs relate to the testing ban. Nascar banned testing to save teams money, and that money is being save not only on travel and track fees, but on dedicated testing personnel. So it really has little to do do with how well a team did this past year or if they had been to the track yet.
Any way you slice it though, it sucks for the people losing their jobs.
