    Al Harrington to Knicks?

Read that on InsideHoops.com this morning - the Warriors could be getting Jamal Crawford in return.

    Thoughts?

That would be such a dumb trade. Do the knicks not realize they are doing something this year that they havent the past couple. Win. So why screw up the formula.

unlike you two, i do see the method behind the trade. Harrington is in the final year of his contract and his salary was this in 2006-07: $7,625,000 and this in 2007-08: $8,425,625.

assuming the same increase between those 2 years, his salary will be ATLEAST $9 million +!

Crawford is making this in 2008-09: $8,640,000 and this in 2009-10: $9,360,000

pretty similar to Harringtons contract however, Crawford has a contract for 2010-11 at: $10,080,000. needless to say both are overpaid, but this lets off alot off the Knicks salary cap for the next couple years, and since they will be in the LeBrick sweepstakes, they need alot of cap room to go, so they sacrafice a decent player, but if they somehow manage to get 'Brick, it'd be worth it to them in the long run

yea I think NY is clearing salary cap for 2010.

Pretty much all of their contracts are less than 2 yrs except for Jeffries, Randolph and Crawford.

    They got rid of Crawford's.

It doesnt matter how well they are playing right now as they are nowhere near championship contenders.

I think Walsh and D'Antoni saw that and made this deal.

This seems just about done. Here's how I see it, as a Knicks fan.

Trading the most watchable player is kind of a kick in the nuts. But, Crawford isn't that good - he's just a scorer. He can't do much else, and he's pretty weak.

Also, it clears off a bit of room. It's not like the team is good enough to make the playoffs now, and even if by some chance they did, it's not like they're going anywhere.

And, now they'll move Randolph and his enormous contract.

Im so happy as a Warriors fan. We've got our point guard. Now were gonna beast
    PG- Jamal Crawford
    SG- Anthony Morrow! (Monta Ellis)
    SF- Steven Jackson
    PF- Maggette
    C- Biedrins

When we get Monta, we're going to be awesome.

I like the trade, as I'm not a Crawford fan; there's a reason he's the longest tenured player to not play in the playoffs. I think this means Marbury is going to start seeing some playing time soon. If we can move Curry for an expiring contract or a cheap, young player, the season is a success.

doesnt Kelenna Azubuike start? he's the most talented one on that team right now? And i dont think Crawford would be that great of a PG because he likes to shoot to much, he is very selfish in that manner
