NBA Starting 5 Promotion is back for 2008-09

The Starting 5 Promotion is back this season from 11/1-1/15 at participating hobby shops.

Basically if you purchase 2008-09 cards at the participating shops (listed on the website) you will receive a special vinyl card holder and once you collect a card of all the 5 players (Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Tony Parker and Chris Paul) from packs, you will get a special limited-edition card provided by Topps and Upper Deck and it could be autographed.

You can also register for a contest to win a trip to the 2009 All-Star Game in Phoenix or many other prizes.

Has anyone here done this last season?

I think you have to open your packs in the store and get the 5 players, so I don't think you can use any cards you have or got from trading etc.

My shop is participating in this. I don't know how topps expects the owner to just hand over an autographed RC .... unless they come in packs or something.

im thinking they are wrapped. so once you get the 5 cards you just get a wrapped card which could turn out to be an auto.

they are wrapped in a single card package. The players that i have seen pulled are d-wade, lebron, MJ, Derrick rose, Oden, and magic johnson. The autos are sticker autos
