How this collection began:
I started collecting cards when I was in 6th grade (1986) I think some kids in my class gave me a few cards and one of them was a 1977 Pete Rose (pretty beat up) Anyway I was hooked. By the next year I had a pretty good collection going. One day on the school bus this 9th grader shows me some really old cards of his dad’s, I looked through them and recognized a 1953 Jackie Robinson. So we worked out a deal for a $6.00 1960’s football card I had. Now the Robinson was not in that good of shape (had it graded later and it came back as a PSA 3), but for the next 15 years it was my BEST card and I would never think about trading it. I dropped out of collecting in the mid 90’s and picked it up again around 2003 or so and decided to focus only on Jackie Robinson and have been adding them ever since. Collecting for me just always came back to that one 1953 Topps card.Last edited by BBonds25; 01-09-2009 at 11:19 PM.

I collect Jackie as part of my Negro League collection and know how hard it is to acquire his items. Your collection is VERY impressive and I'm a little bit jealous as well, congrats to you

Wow that is awesome Jason. Jackie's stuff must be so hard to get, and to even own an autograph of his is unbelievable. Congrats on the achievement.
