    Favorite Band Names

What are some band names that you love. Just the name...not your favorite band or the best bands. You don't even have to like their music, just think the name is cool. And I know there are a ton of local, underground, unknown, etc bands with extremely weird names. I'd prefer to hear the bands that have actually made it and aren't just a novelty act with a crazy name. Here are some of mine:

Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies - never even listened to them
Big Head Todd and the Monsters - didn't listen to them for a long time
Widespread Panic - most of their fans actually seem pretty mellow for some reason...
    Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
    Jimmy's Chicken Shack
    Velvet Revolver

I'm sure I'll have more later if everyone else doesn't get them first

I'm assuming those are supposed to be separated somehow? I've never heard of "Dangerous ToysRattDragonforceBlack Sabbath"

    Stone Temple Pilots
    Velvet Revolver
    Rolling Stones
    Creedence Clearwater Revival
Five for Fighting (Hockey reference for a fighting penalty)
Led Zeppelin (Name came from them thinking that their potential supergroup of musicians would go over like a "lead zeppelin.")
    Procol Harum
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    The Verve

Those are some of my favorites, off my iTunes.

I forgot Five for Fighting, I like that name (although not the band) and it reminded me of another: Five Iron Frenzy

I think it was Keith Moon ( former drummer of The Who ) that suggested the name

You are correct. Moon and Entwistle suggested that their superstar teaming with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck could be potentially bad, or as they put it, could "go over like a lead zeppelin." And history was written...

Yup. My uncle is a big fan, he still has the old records. I think they were going to call themselves "The New Yardbirds" at first, but then switched it.
