Is Derrick Rose ALL-STAR material????
i was thinking about this and this has come up in another thread, but does anyone here think that Derrick Rose should be an all-star this year besides me.....i though about it i think that besides Allen Iverson, Derrick Rose is the best PG in the east.....who is better???
The only other response i've gotten so far has been Devin Harris
Here is how i answered this response:
Harris:PPG22.5RPG3.4 APG6.3SPG1.2BPG0.1FG%0.446FT%0.8153P%0.269MPG35.8
Rose:PPG18.4RPG4.1 APG5.8SPG1.0BPG0.2FG%0.484FT%0.8473P%0.368MPG37.8
Harris has slightly more points but assists per game are nearly the same... rose has more rpg, a better shooting percentage, and ft percentage...i'd give rose the edge considering he's just a rookie and we're comparing him to a 4 year veteran, especially since rose has come into the league being expected to lead a team already......i think rose is a more talented player
Anybody else got any input???Last edited by Italy61587; 11-28-2008 at 12:52 AM.

I think its to early to call but Devin Harris is a bad comparison in my opinion. if comparing Derrick Rose to blossom into a star in the future, i'd take a HOF PG, look at there first year numbers for a better comparison.
Devin Harris has much less potential in my opinion, and will never be as good as was one thought.
I do think Rose will be a great player and productive one in the NBA

harris is better for now, pisses me off that the mavs traded him for kidd...when he is 25 and has tons of potential. but i think rose will pass him up next year probably, also stuckey comes to mind and andre miller.

How about Bibby? Rondo? Duhon? Calderon? They could all also be allstars IMO.

Yes Rondo for sure, keeps stepping it up year after year. This season hes been on fire...scored 16pts. in the 3rd qtr alone, last night to help the Celtics to a victory
But on to the original topic....I for sure think Rose is all-star material. Hes exciting to watch, and has a great personality.
So have rookies always been able to be all-stars? Are they still holding the rookie game like they have in the past? Im not going to lie, I havent really watched or paid attention to most all-star games ever since Jordan retired

i think if the pistons lost billups and didnt have AI, Stuckey would be one great PG for the pistons. i think if he played as much as rose does, he would be 10x better than rose.

lol yea right, 10x better than Rose. You ever see Rose play? Stuckeys good, but he aint that good...or he would be playing more minutes.

lol, do you know whos starting over stuckey? A.I. Nobody other PG on the bulls is even close to good, which is why rose has all that experience already, well more then stuckey. Stuckey's had All-Star PG's in front of him like AI and C-Bill. and i have seen rose play. he WILL be all star material, deffidently not yet though.

it's ok buddy, no one really has the chance to watch Stuckey on a daily basis like we can. to think people were slamming Dumars for taking him 15th....
yet. he is still developing, but trust me, Stuckey will be one for the ages. Stuckey would get more minutes but its hard to when you have AI & Rip in your back court....
exactally! what are they suppose to say "uhh, AI, we're benching you for Stuckey?"
come on! that'd be nuts!
