Myers asked me the following question, and over the past year, quite a few others have also asked me this question: pod, how come you don’t participate in GTS?


My answer:
Myers - good question!!

The reason I don't play is b/c I am in charge of these GTS contests

First, if I were to play, and win, people might start grumbling that the reason I win is b/c I pick the games and teams I know best.

Also, I would be able to make the first entry every time, which deprives someone of the right to try to be the first to put in their scores. As you can see from MLB and NHL GTS....after the first 10 or so people put in their scores, it's awfully hard to pick a good score.
You see 4-3 games more often than 7-0 games. So, if there are 30 people picking, the first 15 are able to choose the score they want, and the last 15 are forced to pick some odd scores, like Anaheim 11-0 over the Mariners.

And, I can spend time "researching" the odds on a particular game, and then be able to choose a team and a score that most likely will give me a better chance to win -- this is not fair, since no one else has a clue what games are being featured before I put them on.

So, by not participating, no one can complain about which games are featured.

No one has ever complained about there being any biasness or cheating with respect to GTS games

As a matter of fact, no one even complains when I feature a bunch of UCLA Bruins hoops or football GTS, lolol. :D :D :D
