I just love the people...
"Well it books at $80, but I want $100 in trade for it because his leg is up and to the right and his arm is out at a 45 degree angle and the picture was taken on a rainy day"
I also hate the people...
"Well it sells for $100 on ebay so I want at least that"
THEN SELL THE DAMN CARD ON EBAY! Have fun paying fees and dealing with deadbeat jagoffs!
...okay, enough of me venting

The hobby's in pretty bad shape when the first thing out of people's mouth is "Book Value" when it comes to getting a card.

I had a guy that wanted to trade me a GU shoe card (white) that had a small piece of color on it that was, from he was told about the card, a small piece of a Nike swoosh. Card had a BV of $20, he wanted $30 in cash or $50 in trade.
NOT!

Ive been saying this over and over since coming to this board lol
Ive had dealings with 3 different people who respond to half the trade posts I make, the same 3 all the time, always wanting3 to 4 times book value for their cards. I keep asking them to stop replying to my posts. Ive even offered double high book value for common game used and been turned down flat. I also get tired of the people who only trade gu for gu. If Ive got a card that books $50 that you want and theres nothing on your page I need but a $15 gu, that in my opinion is a good deal in your favor, but they never take those deals.
Later,
Ryan

My favorite one is:
It's bv is$40, but on eBay it goes for around $80-90 so I am looking for full book at $90 on that one.

brunell-That is just stupid. If it's just a small piece of color how can they even prove it's the Nike logo? If the thing booked for $50 I think it would say 50 instead of 20.

Ryan, I'll lyk when I get some more $15 gu in. I'll trade em for $50 cards of any sort all day, lol. But I know what you are saying. I as well have the same 3 or 4 people reply to my posts. A couple I deal with regularly, but there are one or two who say they are interested in something like a g\u I have & then when I pick a few things off of there want list, they decide they only want to trade base cards or low end $3-5 rcs for what I have.

I also at one time had some gu for trade that booked in the $15-25 range. I had someone here tell me "Well, those only sell on ebay for $2-5 each, & what you want (even though the bv is the same) sells for $4-7 on ebay, so I would need something ealse that would sell for $2-4 on Ebay to make up the diff" ™™™????

I hate people like that too!!!! If I want a card, BV doesn't matter to me. I just like to trade for the fun of it also, not to make money. It is almost impossible to make money in this industry. People should just realize that this is a hobby --- for fun!!
