Taking a break
Don't you feel at times you need to take a break from whatever you are doing? Well I do for trading. Yes I have a few coming in and one to send out but after I am done for a little bit. I have to concentrate on other things for a while.
One thing I will say this place has been very good for me while going through my cancer treatments. It kept my mind of the bad but at times I didn't know what I was doing because I was sick. But tomorrow is my last scheduled chemo session, my last "cocktail". Couldn't sleep a whole last night and definitely won't sleep a lot tonight. It's great that it's happening but then there will be all the tests, again. Then my last surgery, sometime in Jan, if everything is ok to take my port out.
My wife asked what I wanted for Christmas this year and I told her nothing. I then told her what I really wanted. For the Drs. to tell me I have no more cancer and that I can go back to work. You know you have an itch when you start a fire in the fireplace and sit with your son and stare at it!! Didn't know if I should run and get an extinguisher, evacuate everyone out of the house or just enjoy the heat and listen to the questions from a four year old about the chemistry of fire. I decided to enjoy the heat and answer him.
Obviously this has been more stressful losing my mom to cancer about 18 months ago. And dealing with this type of cancer. The looks and stares, the laughter, the questions and "the why me". Plus I am taking four college classes this semester and still two papers to write at my age. My thought process is not always there. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up.
I do want to say thanks for the support from a lot of people here while going through this especially Andy (SingleDaddyof2). One thing I found this can't be done alone even if it is a long distance pm. I told me wife I wouldn't want to go through cancer with anyone else but her. Hmmmm...the look I got was interesting. I will be back when I feel a little better and my head is clearer. Thanks again and I am sure I will be on to see if anything is new and to finish up my trades. Take care and have a safe and Merry Christmas.

Taking time for yourself is most important! I had no idea you were going through that! Hopefully everything is ok and you can get back to work!

I haven't talked to you personally, but I do know some of the background on this from other staffers - good luck to you, and I'd like to say that you are a very brave person! Good luck to you and have a very Merry Christmas!
