    Smile 1990's the Craziest # 1 : 1998-99 RC Parallel Star Rubies

There were many the craziest cards in 1990's.

Of course like Ultimate and Exquisite...there are also the craziest 2000's.

But it became harder and harder to find something to be passion.
    (I don't despise those...only my OP)

Because most of them are really expensive..

I heard some people spent too much money to Ultimate or Exquisite..then got anything !

This Hobby has become more expensive hobby inspite of downward world Economy.=(

Anyway, one of the reason box busters would be nostalgia to 90's, Box and Case Price is cheaper than 2000's.

If you are lucky, you can pull Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant craziest card within 100$...Star Rubies...Precious Metal Gem Green..etc.

But the same thing to 1990's and 2000's box breaking, it is really hard to pull like that the craziest thing. =)

In 1999~2000, I lived in Card Shop..at that time there were a few nice card shop in my country.
(Now there is only 2 card shop ..whole my country. =( )

But I had never seen 1998-99 Skybox Premium Star Rubies.

At that time..there were one hardcore collector in my country.

He collected 1996-97 Flair Showcase Legacy Set..1996-97 Skybox Autographics set. 1997-98 Skybox Autographics CM Set, 1996-97 EX2000 Credentials set....Imagine...Futhermore he store all of his card only in binder !!!

The reason why I tell about him...Even he didn't have many 1998-99 Skybox Premium Star Rubies..especially for RC Parallel.

After NBA Strike Ending..Vince Carter was relly sensational..

SO most of people wanted to pull the craziest of Vince Carter.

    I saw many box break

But even regular rookie rubies couldn't be pull.

1-2 years later, I could know what is Ebay...
(Before then, I didn't know about Ebay anything)

    Ebay was like treasure Box..

But for me, there are a few things I wanted because my collection has been very restricted...

Then I came across one Jamison Sick Card.

It was 1998-99 Skybox Premium Star Rubies !!

I had never seen that beautiful card !!

SO I bought that card without any hesitate..

Frankly Speaking, I really have wanted Vince Carter Star Rubies...

But It was really expensive. And I couldn't find that.

Anyway I could manage to get most of Rookie Star Rubies...

If Class of 1998 was the craziest like Class of 1996 or Class of 1984, this card would rule the hobby.

Unfortunatley...there are a few class of 1998 Star Players remain in NBA League..not like class of 1996..

Futhermore, most of them are not any longer sensational players than their talent..Vince Carter, Paul Pierce...etc..

And Fleer/Skybox made mistake...They made Cuttino Mobley and Shammond Williams Rubies..

But why they didn't make Rashard Lewis Rookie Rubies? I don't know...then why they make Toby Baily instead Rashard Lewis...

In addition..these cards are condition sensitive...Really Sensitive...like 1990's craziest Parallel.

Here is Gallery of 1998-99 RC Parallel Star Rubies...

    Thank you for interesting =)

In my OP, For Staring 5 Parallels...1998-99 is not good...

Of course that card is awesome and hard to find but not best..

1999-00 Hoop Starting Five looks much better...Shinning Silver background =)

    Agree. I understand..

I would have picture of that(Of course, not mine..=) )

But I can't find that now..there are too many card pictures in my HDD.

Anyway I would add more =)

    - Credentials
    - Grand Finale (1997-98 SPx)
    - Thunder Rave
    - Thunder Super Rave (1998-99 Skybox Thunder)
    - Gem Master (1998-99 Metal Masterpiece)
    - Metal Gem Green
(Of course this is included in Precious Metal but I think it is higher and higher level than Red)
    - Brilliants 24 Karat
