Question Celtics really needs Clutch Shooter.

    I watched Christmas match-up Celtics @ Lakers.

    KG Deffense was great.

Lakers was also great..Kobe and Gasol Combi...

Pierce, Ray Allen and Rondo was not bad..rather very nice.

But Ray Allen looks making some mistakes not like normal Ray Allen.
(I saw Ray Allen got some angry with Rajon Rondo...maybe during 2Q)

And last moments of 4th Q, KG couldn't deffense all the time because KG have to help to deffense Kobe. Then Gasol could get points easier.

I think Ray Allen was not bad....

    (I don't know VS Warriors..I couldn't watch...)

KG Deffense is Really Great...It is no wonder he was DPOY of Last Season.

Kendrick Perkins is great now..not the best Big Man in the League though..

Rajon Rondo makes a few mistakes but he is also very nice.

Paul Pierce is Franchise of Celtics...
one of a few great guy can deffend and stop Lebron James..not fully though..

Ray Allen's 3PT is really great..He can't make great effort all the time.

But why Celtics couldn't win the game @ Lakers?

In my OP, that game showed Celtics' weak point. Thanks Lakers. =)

I think Ray Allen has been tired because there is no backup of Ray.

    James Posey was gone...

Even If Boston Celtics wins Back 2 Back Champ, it would be really really really hard to go to top because of no-backup-clutch shooter .

Eddie House and Tony Allen is not bad
but they can't be fully back-up of Ray Allen.

Only my humble OP, I think Celtics and Danny Ainge would get retired clutch-shooter(because of lack of salary) like Robert Horry, Allan Houston.

Even bankrupted Latrell Sprewell looks OK...
If he don't want much salary and role.

More joinning of big man like P.J. Brown and Dikembe Mutombo(Of course, there are nothing to be derermined...) is better..

But back-up Clutch Shooter joinning looks prior...

I watched Playoff # 4 game Celtics @ Hawks again 2 weeks ago.

Celtics was lost at that game but I could see again James Posey was great..not like Reggie Miller or Robert Horry though..

    Thanks for interest. =)

Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are both very clutch shooters and will be on the court when it matters.

Basically, what you are saying, is they need someone off the bench who can be clutch at times...I don't know who is more clutch than Pierce or Allen.

    Exactly..=)

I means Pierce and Ray can't make great clutch.

In my OP, Celtics Bench depth is really bad than Big 3.

It is no wonder because only big 3 salary is really huge.

so I think Pierce and Ray has been pressed too much by pressure..

The point is to be perfect Celtics...
(Of course, Celtics is still great in this season..
but I want Celtics would be nearly 100% perfect team. =) )

need back-up clutch shooter when Pierce or Ray is in the bench.

But Celtics can't pay more salary like James Posey deal.

SO if Celtics adds more Veteran back-up clutch shooter..it would be one of retired players...I think...

It's always nice to have some guys who can make big shots coming from the bench ie paxson, steve kerr, fisher, horry, ginobli, posey etc. Makes getting the championship easier. But the clutch can always be left up to the superstar.

The bench needs to be better so they can build on the lead when starter rests, at least if not widen the lead, stop the other team from scoring much. Right now the Celtics has no bench. It's one of their major weak points. Maybe Cassell can come off the bench come playoff time and give some minutes like last year. But he's really ancient now..

Hey, You gotta credit the Lakers defense for the Celtics lack of shooting i think.

But yeah, isn't Ray Allen their designated shooter?

They have 2 very clutch starting player - Ray Allen and Paul Pierce - and 2 other pretty clutch players - KG and Rondo. But, they do need a clutch guy off the bench. I just said in another thread, that I think Rashad McCants would be a great fit - I think McHale needs to give Ainge and the Celtics a late Christmas present by trading him there....I really like McCants, but I would not be disappointed AT ALL if he ended up going to Boston!

Eddie House can make clutch threes off the bench. I loved him in Miami and remember him hitting big shots there. He hasn't really done it this season, but I think he will in time.
