2009: SCF Auctions, Storefronts, OPG and more!

2008 is almost behind us. It was a great year for SCF and I know 2009 will be even better!

Behind the scenes we have completed our auction system and almost done with our storefront system. We are also almost done with out consignment and escrow services. We are in the infant stages of a TRUE online price guide!

SCF AUCTION SYSTEM

The auction system has been tested and all the bugs have been worked out. We will be producing a tutorial and come up with the final implementation plan and details. For example, we may use it for our Card Cash Auctions and consignment services at first. Then we may use it as an alternative to eBay and offer a monthly/annual fee to list unlimited auctions with absolutely no fees. For example, you pay a monthly or annual fee and you can list unlimited auctions with images, etc. There will be no listing or final ending price fees. No image insertion fees, etc. So, you can list 10 auctions or 1,000 auctions and just pay one annual or monthly price.

SCF STOREFRONTS

The storefronts have been in the works for a while now. Due to technical issues and the lack of time I haven't had a chance to work out the bugs, set up the system and test it. Starting next week we will be testing the system and should have the storefronts ready for our members by the end of January.

SCF ONLINE PRICE GUIDE

One of our more ambitious projects will be teaming up with Tuff Stuff to produce the best online price guide in the world for sports cards. We will be using Tuff Stuff and SCF trade data to come up with a Trade Value and eBay, SCF sales data and card shop sales to come up with a Card Value. Members will have the option to search for cards or maintain their inventory of cards that will show you the value of your cards and entire inventory value. The price will be low and one cost for ALL sports. I hope to have this launched by March.

ESCROW SERVICES

Next month we will be launching our escrow services. Members working high end deals will pay a flat fee to ensure their items are in the condition they agreed on and arrive. More details very soon!

CONSIGNMENT SERVICES

There are a lot of members that can't get an eBay account for many reasons. SCF will be offering consignment services. We will run the auction on SCF with maximum exposure on the main forum and throughout the site. The fee will likely be a percentage of the final price so you know we will get you lots of exposure!

As you can see we have a lot of major projects to be completed in the first few months of 2009. The goal is to offer services that are needed in the sports card world at low, flat rates. We hope you appreciate the time and effort the SCF staff is putting into these projects and take advantage of them!
