Hey everyone, this is the most popular forum I am on and figured somebody might know what my options would be on the following:

I have a new WD My book external hard drive 500gb. The usb port on the drive has the pins bent back and it will not connect to my computer, I have a lot of it filled up with data that i wish to not lose. I have gotten it apart down to the chip the usb connector is contained on.

What are my options? I believe I have an old mp3 player that has a similar configuration connector on it, can i swap them? Can I get one from radioshack to put in it? Or am I going to have to buy a whole new chip? or am i completely SOL?
