Who deserves to win ROY?

OJ Mayo. He is the leader of the Grizzlies, and the Wolves almost always trade the ROY away.

i agree he doesn't even play near the minutes rose does yet he still scores more and is the leader of a young team, i think mayo will end up being better than rose, better scorer, better shooter, better understanding of the game.

I look at eff rating, which is more telling. Rose is 17.00. Mayo is 16.37. This may change. I have a personal bias with point guards and centers, because the offense and defense tends to run through them. Mayo is more of a scorer and that's way overrated in the NBA. I would give the ROY to a PG or C any day of the week over a 2 in a close race. I think Rose should win.

It's definitely a tight race between Rose and Mayo thus far. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up over the rest of the season. We may have our first co-ROY since Brand and Francis in 99-00.
